Intro Coding & 3D Animation

This unique workshop teaches the fundamental concepts of Python programming with a fun twist. The students will write code to create and manipulate geometry in the 3D world of Blender! The concepts covered in this class are the same as in traditional programming classes but the 3D Animation of Blender will add excitement to the students’ journey into coding. Blender is a free software so all students will have easy access to it. But it is also very powerful and was used extensively in the 2024 Oscar winning animated feature "Flow".
We will learn the basics of programming starting with the fundamental building blocks of variables and expressions and moving to more advanced concepts. All lessons will be visualized in Blender's 3D display, which will reinforce the students' learning and make it more fun. We will also cover some basic Math and Physics that apply to object animation. The students will leave with new ideas and confidence in their ability to use programming to problem solve.
